20000716 Hi folks! I am back, and this is the second issue of this news letter. I am developing a site to track and link, students and educators. A short while back, I taught a course on classic guitar performance, (at the top ranked liberal arts college in the country.) From this, I developed a thick stack of hand-outs for my students. Now, I am moving this to cyberspace. No fee. Free. It's just the right thing to do. I am calling it Trillium University (after the street outside my door.) I think it has the possibility of giving us all our own recording studios, and raising the status of amateur musicians to a new and respectful position. We shall see. Like the visual arts, music does form a microcosm of the world. Interdisciplinary studies can weld us together a new kind of knowledgeable graduate. One who knows how to compose in any style, improvise or sight read, build an instrument, digitize sounds, Invent the new phrase. Next time, something on inventing.
